INVITATION TO JOIN OUR WEEKLY "DRUB-DHE" MEDITATION

"My love and prayers to you, your family and friends"

Dear students I am writing to you personally to invite each and every one of you - students, family and friends - to join in the warmth and fellowship of our meditations which take place at our local Drub-dhe centres worldwide every week (tuesday in Scotland) throughout the year.

All are Welcome!

The focus of these evenings is on the Dzogchen Ngondro foundation practices which employ a combination of mantra, visualisation and meditation. Whilst these are generally associated with Yungdrung Bon (The Ancient Buddhism of Tibet) and Buddhism, their essence has Universal Application and can be adapted and utilized by anyone – regardless of the faith or belief system one ascribes to, so all are most cordially invited to participate.

When I am in each area, I conduct the practices in person – providing additional commentary and insights as we go along. If I am not there, my students take turns at leading the practices. We start at 7:30pm (7:00pm in Scotland) and finish at approximately 9.30pm (9:00p.m. in Scotland) however, if you find it difficult to arrive in time for the start, please don't worry about it – just slip in quietly when you arrive.

These sessions are FREE of charge however, if you wish to make donations, these are always most welcome and are used to help with the Rent etc. Offerings such as flowers, incense, candles, food etc. (ALL FRESH) can be brought in by you and dedicated for the benefit of yourself, your family / friends, etc. This being a positive karmic act and if, at any point, you wish to sponsor / dedicate the prayers from any session for a particular purpose, please advise your local um-zey (prayer leader) / named organizer in order that these may be done in the manner I have prescribed for them.

'Hope you can make it!'

"Human Life, no matter how successful or famous and powerful one may be, is incomplete without taking spiritual path!"

DRUB-DHE PRACTICE ARRANGEMENTS IN SCOTLAND

SATURDAY PRACTICE FOCUS ROTA

There are currently 2 drub-dhe practice groups running in Scotland – one in Glasgow and one in Dunoon. The arrangements for each are as follows:

GLASGOW DRUB-DHE:
In Glasgow, practices are held every Tuesday evening and there is also an all-day practice on the 2nd Saturday of every month.

WEEKLY PRACTICES
Day: Tuesday
Time: 7:00p.m.
Venue: The Theosophical Society, 17 Queens Crescent, Glasgow.
Entry: Free. Donations welcome.
The focus of the first part of the evening is on the Dzogchen Ngondro foundation practices which employ a combination of mantra, visualisation and meditation. Whilst these are generally associated with Yungdrung Bon (The Ancient Buddhism of Tibet) and Buddhism, their essence has Universal Application and can be adapted and utilized by anyone – regardless of the faith or belief system one ascribes to, so ALL are most cordially invited to attend and join in.

Each Dzog-chen Ngon-dro practice will commence with Dhe-chen Gyalpo (The King of Great Bliss), Mitak Gyud-kul (The Mortality Prayer), Sem-kyed (The Generation of Enlightened Mind), and Kyab-dro & Chak (The Seeking of Refuge) thereafter the following practices will be included on a rota basis:

Yig-gya (One Hundred Syllables) on the first week
Mandal Bulwa (Mandala Offering)
on the second week
Lamei Neljor (Acquiring the Jang-chub Sem (Enlightened Mind) of the Lama
on the third week
Nying-po Nam-soom (The Three Heart Essences)
on the 4rth week – starting at the beginning of the rota the following week.

Following on from the rota-ed practice, we will either be saying the Dedication Prayer and proceeding to the Ngo-zhi practice or, if there are people in attendance who have not received the loong (transmission) of Dzog-chen Ngon-dro, we will have a short break to allow our guests to partake of refreshments –if they wish – and then to leave.

The second part of the evening focuses on Dzog-chen Ngo-zhi (Principal Teachings) and, as mentioned above, is only open to those who have received the loong of the Dzog-chen Ngon-dro. Again, these practices will be done on a rota – a different one each week - in the following order:

1) Ma-gyud (Gong-chöd Nam-soom) – first week
2) Phowa (Yeshe Sang-thel) – second week
3) Tse-drub (Jari ma) – third week
4) Chöd (Khadroi Ghe Gyang) – fourth week
5) Zhi-ney – fifth week
6) Du-tri su Drib-jong – sixth week
7) Trul-khor – seventh week
8) Sa-dhak Lu-nyen Chöd-thab – eighth week
9) Jam-ma Nying-thik – ninth week
10) Sherab Mawei Seng-ghe – tenth week.

Initially, in Scotland, we will be concentrating on the first 6 practices on a rota basis and will gradually include the other 4 when more people have received the loongs of these practices.

At the end of the Ngo-zhi practice, we will conclude in the usual way with Yeshe Walmo and Ngo-wa Mönlam.

MONTHLY PRACTICE DAY:
When: The second Saturday of every month
Venue: The Theosophical Society, 17 Queens Crescent, Glasgow.
Time: 10:00a.m – 4:00p.m.
Entry: Free. Donations welcome

A tshog offering is included during the course of the day.

The practice day commences with the Dzog-chen Ngon-dro (Foundation Teachings) and this takes us up to lunch time. This part of the day is open to ALL to attend.
The afternoon session concentrates on the Ngo-zhi practices and is only open to those who have received the loong (transmission) of Dzog-chen Ngon-dro. Again, these practices will be done in rotation – with a different one each month - following the pattern established in the weekly Ngo-zhi practice rota above.
At the end of the Ngo-zhi practice, we will conclude in the usual way with Yeshe Walmo and Ngo-wa Mönlam.
