INVITATION TO JOIN OUR WEEKLY

"DRUB-DHE" MEDITATION

"My love and prayers to you, your family and friends"

Dear students I am writing to you personally to invite each and every one of you - students, family and friends - to join in the warmth and fellowship of our meditations which take place at our local Drub-dhe centres worldwide every Wednesday evening throughout the year.

All are Welcome!

The focus of these evenings is on the Dzogchen Ngondro foundation practices which employ a combination of mantra, visualisation and meditation. Whilst these are generally associated with Yungdrung Bon (The Ancient Buddhism of Tibet) and Buddhism, their essence has Universal Application and can be adapted and utilized by anyone – regardless of the faith or belief system one ascribes to, so all are most cordially invited to participate.

When I am in each area, I conduct the practices in person – providing additional commentary and insights as we go along. If I am not there, my students take turns at leading the practices. We start at 7:30pm and finish at approximately 9.30pm however, if you find it difficult to arrive in time for the start, please don't worry about it – just slip in quietly when you arrive.

These sessions are FREE of charge however, if you wish to make donations, these are always most welcome and are used to help with the Rent etc. Offerings such as flowers, incense, candles, food etc. (ALL FRESH) can be brought in by you and dedicated for the benefit of yourself, your family / friends, etc. This being a positive karmic act and if, at any point, you wish to sponsor / dedicate the prayers from any session for a particular purpose, please advise your local um-zey (prayer leader) / named organizer in order that these may be done in the manner I have prescribed for them.

'Hope you can make it!'

"Human Life, no matter how successful or famous and powerful one may be, is incomplete without taking spiritual path!"

Lama Khemsar Rinpoche

Time: starts 6:45pm for a 7pm start, until about 9:30pm (approximately the same with all our U.K and European groups.) Venue: To be confirmed with Organiser: Jan Ema Ho: 01559 371109 e-mail: janfromonw@tiscali.co.uk

Wednesday evening meditation is designed for students to practice Dzogchen Ngondro. It is also a public meditation assisted by students as a courtesy of TYBSC and open to general public - regardless of faith and gender.

In Wales the Wednesday evening meditation continues with Dzogchen Ngo-zhi designed for Drubdra students *only* to practice. This is not open to general public unless one has received at least Dzogchen Ngondro.

SATURDAY DRUB-DHE NGO-ZHI PRACTICE ROTA.

From January, 2009, the practice rota below will be in operation during the Saturday practice sessions. The format to be observed, in each instance, is for the practice session to commence with the consolidated version of Dzog-chen Ngon-dro followed by the particular practice rota-ed for that session. Initially, we will be operating on a truncated version of the rota, concentrating on the first 5 practices on the list, and will eventually begin to include the other practices at an appropriate juncture in time.

1. Magyud (Gong Chod Namsoom) First Saturday
2. Phowa (Yeshe Sang Thel)
Second Saturday
3. Tse-drub (Jarima)
Third Saturday
4. Chod (Khadroi Ghe Gyang)
Fourth Saturday
5. Zhiney (Dzogchen meditation stepping stone)
Fifth Saturday

THEN in about 6 months time following will be entered into the rotation:

6. Trul-khor (Dzogchen Meditation Aid)
7. Sadhak Lu-nyen Chod-thab
8. Jam-ma (Nying-thik)
9. Sherab Mawei Seng-ghe

In addition to the rotation of the 5 main NGO-ZHI FOCUS subjects marked (as indicated on the website notice and email messages sent out this week), regarding the consolidated Dzogchen Ngondro practice beforehand, Rinpoche instructs students that:

"Each saturday the Dzogchen Ngondro should be performed by students as per the usual consolidated way, first setting up the mandala, then following Mitak Gyud Kul, Sem-kye and Kyabdro practices (which are essential), students should then proceed to one of the remaining Dzogchen Ngondro in the following manner:

For example:

First week Mitak Gyud Kul, Semkye and Kyabdro practice
followed by Yig-Gya, then onto the NGO-ZHI FOCUS for the saturday rotation, eg. Phowa and concluding / dedicating as usual.

The next week Mitak Gyud Kul, Semkye and Kyabdro practice
followed by
Mandal Bulwa, then onto the NGO-ZHI FOCUS for the saturday rotation, eg. Tse-drub Jarima, and concluding/ dedicating as usual.

The next week Mitak Gyud Kul, Semkye and Kyabdro practice
followed by
Lamei Neljor, then onto the NGO-ZHI FOCUS for the saturday rotation, eg. Zhiney, and concluding/ dedicating as usual.

The next week Mitak Gyud Kul, Semkye and Kyabdro practice
followed by Nying-po Namsoom, then onto the NGO-ZHI FOCUS for the saturday rotation, eg. Chod, and concluding/ dedicating as usual.

The next week Mitak Gyud Kul, Semkye and Kyabdro practice
followed by Yig-Gya, then onto the NGO-ZHI FOCUS for the saturday rotation, eg. Ma-gyud Gon-chod Nam-soom and concluding/ dedicating as usual.

And so on, in rotation.

In this way the saturday practice will reflect the format of the wednesday night meditations, which similarly rotate the Dzogchen Ngondro elements to be focussed on each week."
